dRokSideMenu is a great module to allow a second menu style in a sidebar block region. It allows you to customize the look of the sidemenu, without modifying the primary-links menu.

The module will pull information from the primary-links menu system, but display it in a different style in the sidebar.

You can change the title that is displayed for the side menu in the module admin area for dRokSideMenu.
